It's April, check back in August.
I mean we're talking prospects.
Miller will either be exposed as lacking range, or surprise as a potential power hitting SS, which is a baseball unicorn. Playing SS will translate well to 3B if he has the arm.
Caba is young enough that you probably want to rotate him a bit, until they fill out, players that age tend to wear down over the course of a long season.
Young pitchers, geez, they're basically lottery tickets, will they get hurt (TJ), never develop a secondary pitch(s), never refine their mechanics and improve their command? Good hitting prospects are fairly linear in their development, pitchers are erratic as heck, if the light goes on they can be shooting stars (see Kerkering last year).
To me, the real issue isn't individual prospects, but that it's time for the farm system to deliver, after a decade of futility they need to start developing talent on a wholesale basis, not just hit on 1st rd picks, but LA bonus babies and a bunch of "surprises." We're heard all about how they've rationalized coaching, improved scouting, invested in facilities - well, put up or shut up. They've had 3 years? to implement these changes, now it's time for results.
Success in my eyes are both A ball teams being among the best in their leagues, and a few prospects forcing their way to Reading. And the FCL team showcasing some young players coming out "of nowhere" to become potential top 30 prospects. The back of the top 30 should be mostly young players in the FCL and A ball, instead of overage prospects with limited upside staying on the list b/c there's lack of depth in the system.
