Well that's certainly a legitimate fear, but probably not a plausible one. I guess I could see them packaging it with George in some way, or using it in a trade to replace George, but the return would have to be more substantial (if not a longer-term core piece than a better shuffling of the deck chairs for another star).
At the end of the day it's always about the owner. Keeping Morey or bringing in Myers are both moves that say, "fix this now, not in two years." Brand, to me, could potentially be charged with resetting things, never mind that he's been part of everything they've done since (and even before, like the Bridges trade). What are the odds Harris is actually ready to admit failure and change course, let alone give up on a franchise icon that he's also personally attached to? Or that he'd hire a GM with a fresh vision and real power?
