Yeah the gossip seemed to be that's all the Sixers want but doesn't mean they can't re-sign him.

Knicks just made the deal Sixers couldn't with Detroit (for Bogdanovic and former Sixer Burks).

The Philadelphia 76ers are sending Patrick Beverley to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Cameron Payne and a 2027 second-round pick, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

They also traded House for nothing earlier today (clearing cap room, perhaps for Kyle Lowry was ESPN's speculation, had to give up a second to move him. Guess that room could also have wound up being for Payne, dunno).

I hope not getting a big doesn't hurt them, both for the next six weeks and when they need to manage Joel's minutes in the playoffs.

They just traded Springer to the Celtics for nothing (2nd round pick). Another guy I liked to watch.

well that's not nothing. They gave up four seconds in two deals but got two back in two others. Let's hope the Celtics pick isn't the last one in the draft! (Though it's probably not even this year.)

I liked watching Springer play defense, but I'd likely choose the fork to an eye instead of watching him play offense.

They needed outside shooting (especially 3 pt), backup big depth, ball handlers and rebounding.

Buddy addresses #1, but on the other fronts there has been little movement and I'm unsure of the basketball benefits of the Beverley move. That seems to be more of a cap/roster decision.

Bingo. Springer just needed more time and coaching on offense. Doc and Nurse are not young-talent coaches.

The Sixers traded House, Beverly and Springer to open payroll for the possibility of signing a buyout player. We'll have to see how that plays out.

Obviously this all still hinges on Joel. But also Sixers can easily re-sign Hield while also taking care of Maxey, if that's how they want to go.

z, I'm pretty sure they won't resign Heild. From the moves today, they are maximizing cap space.

Are they actually going to try and sign everyone from the buyout market. Seems like we might struggle to get 5 guys on the court if we don’t add a few quickly.

Lowry is really nothing more than a backup guard at this point. Would be nice for him if he can end his career in Philly, I think he always wanted to play here.

Dimwiddie or Lopez would be an ok backup maybe. Not really good, but easily available for nothing.

But for who? There aren't going to be that many spectacular free agents or sign-and-trade guys. For a regular trade they still have some picks to trade but not a ton.

Man Paul George is an excellent two way player. Only concern with him is injuries.

The pick part of the deal was the toughest part for these teams to sort through, which is why sources who spoke to PHLY on Wednesday expressed skepticism about a Hield deal despite extensive talks between the two teams. Indiana had been hoping to squeeze a first-round pick out of the Sixers, and Philly had balked at the idea as late as Wednesday evening.

They landed in what feels like fair territory for the 31-year-old guard/forward. The Sixers now possess Hield’s Bird Rights ahead of his unrestricted free agency this summer, should they choose to retain him, but the pick outlay is small enough that they won’t feel forced to keep him at a bad number or more years than they’re comfortable with. Fair price for a rental, with options on the back end.

Well it looks like Morris Sr. and Korkmaz are going to be waived if the Sixers want them back. I would actually want Morris Sr. back, I thought he played well here.

Funny that fans think the Sixers didn't do enough. Seems like most of us could have gone either way, more would have been nice but doing even less would have been understandable too.

If they are in the play-in and lose because Joel's not back they probably weren't going anywhere anyway.
