I dunno, I'd be surprised if they don't spend very close to the CBT as they've had in previous years - though there's something to be said for holding back room at the deadline. Of course there is also something to be said for exceeding the CBT, especially when the Mets and Dodgers already will.
Last year's team still would have missed the playoffs. Might have in a 14-team pool as well, had San Diego not cratered.
If they do in fact get two bats and a starting pitcher, they're probably spending some decent money. If they're not aggressive about CF, or go cheap on the extra rotation piece given they do already have 5 starters in theory, they should have money to spend later - but will the team be good enough to be anything but a wild card by July?
Either way I don't think they're going to make 3 free agent moves (or 4 if you include another higher-end reliever). Possible only LF via free agency, unless they make a surprise move for a SS.
