My question is, is this a fixable problem? It's the reason they got Horford, but that didn't work (overall, he was actually decent when he could play center). I remember the Raptors had a great record without Kawhi. But I'm not sure it's reasonable to expect the Sixers to be good without their MVP - unless, of course, they get a better player to be their second or third-best player. But otherwise, if their MVP can't be available for "X" number of games or "X" number of minutes in the playoffs, it's the same old same old.

If you look at any team that plays without their star the results don't seem great. Without Durant, the nets aren't very good and they have Irving and Harden.

The fall off is a concern...

The 2017/18 Sixers with Simmons, Cov, Illasova, Saric, and Redick (and Bellinelli and TJ) played very well without Embiid. I think teams falling off without their best players this season is somewhat a product of not enough practice to have a "plan B".

I agree most teams can't survive, let alone win a championship, without their best player. But we still have the best player who is likely to miss the most games - we still don't even know if he can hold up through three rounds.

Also agreed you can't read too much into it given the circumstances of the season. Between the unique off-season and the COVID cancellations/short rosters, there going to be more duds.

I've never been a big Kevin Love fan. Can't play defense, doesn't score well inside the arc, streaky on 3s, not the rebounder he once was. And now he's injury-prone for sure...hasn't played a full season since 15/16 missing 20, 20, 60, and 25 games and almost 20 games already this season.

By the way, people seem skeptical that this buyout is happening. Where did yo u see it?

Champs or not, a pretty frustrating last few minutes given they owned the game almost from start to finish. Tobias made up for what had been a pretty awful double-possession before the Lakers took their lead. First road loss for LA.

The NBA is so confusing. So basically the Sixers need to acquire Reddick by Wednesday so that whoever they give up for him - or anyone else they acquire with him, as well as Reddick himself - is still tradeable in a multi-player deal at the actual deadline.

If they could do it for Scott and Ferguson, yeah, I wouldn't trade Bradley, because they need a back up C to Howard when Embiid sits.

I guess "Can't have enough shooting/movement" would be the philosophy. Also low-cost/easy to match salaries, and gives you an expiring contract.

Also not out of the question Green or Curry gets moved along again, or you could re-package Reddick if a bigger fish is in the sea (thus the need to do the deal now).

Thybulle was a monster in the fourth quarter. They went to a 2-3 zone with Simmons and Thybulle at the top and Indiana really struggled trying to get shots without turning it over. Thybulle had 11 deflections in the quarter according to Rivers.

I just watched a video of the work thybulle and simmons did...it was so much fun to watch.
