I think the mentions of including Herro and Adebayo in the trade were just pure fantasy on the part of Sixers fans, not based in reality. Tough to see two professionals and fan favorites like Redick and Butler go, but here's hoping for the best. In a league dominated by shooting, the Sixers still don't have nearly enough.

All the league minimum types on the roster have to be shooters. They seem to have about $7M left for one more decent player, then the money is gone and they have to use vet minimum slots. Need a 2-guard who can be lights out.

Still need a shooter, they still have some cap space available. Hopefully, Horford will mesh well with Embiid. With Horford, he has to play the 4, so that moves Harris to the 3, Richardson the 2. They should be much better defensively and one of the biggest set of starters in terms of size, with Embiid (7'0"), Horford (6'10"), Harris (6'9"), Richardson (6'6") and Simmons (6'10")

Tobias Harris is a good shooter.

In hindsight in order to make the horford signing, the sixers couldn't take on more money.

Love the Horford move. It will be an overpay towards the end, but his game will translate well throughout the deal, even as he gets older.

This is 100 percent Joel and Ben's team. These moves were all made with them in mind. Time for them to take that next step, especially Simmons.

Would love Pat Bev, but they probably can't afford another non shooter on the team. Maybe Markieff Morris, Austin Rivers/Seth Curry. Also need a backup center.

I'm not a huge basketball guy. But, I look at this like the Sixers essentially trading Reddick and Butler for Horford and Richardson. They should be better defensively, And, ultimately, it's all about Simmons and Embiid continuing to grow and become better.

It's more than that, they also traded for cap space, which they would not have had if they signed Butler and Redick. They still have a few moves to make and have 7.71 million left to do it.

Can't blame anyone here. Jimmy for being confident in himself, the Heat believing he fits into their culture, and the Sixers for trying to run it back.

The NBA is such a players league that night one of free agency completely trumped the entire MLB offseason with two 25 year old generational talents.

The advantages of playing in Florida make it not that unbelievable.

Butler wants to be the main guy and now he is.
