I agree. In fact I said it was a dumb thing to do. I just don't see how it sends a denigrating message to the other draftees. When you are 1.3 and sign for almost $6 million, you know you are the center of attention and hopes. When you sign 4th round or later for a tenth or far less than a tenth of that and all teams had multiple chances to draft you and passed through round 3 (or many more rounds) you know where you stand in the pecking order. If anyone should feel dissed in all of this, it's the development staff at Lakewood, which is where Bohm should be starting, but where the manager and coaches apparently aren't trusted to give him his initial evaluation, introduction to the Philllies Way, and key pointers to work on to improve his game.
