I wonder if this really puts them out of the running for Corbin or Happ. Maybe not. The Yankees have often had a lefty-heavy rotation because of the dimensions of Yankee Stadium (new and old).

Prices and seat map announced for the Red Sox/Yankees series in London. These are ridiculous prices, and the sight lines look terrible for huge sections. I'm still gonna probably end up going just because its so close but I'm gonna have to think about it.

Those are kind of ridiculous prices. Like double or triple U.S. prices and the cheap seats are those end zone seats that would not exist in any baseball-only park.

Seems like the OF corners must also be partially obstructed if they are cheaper than dead CF but then, I've never been a bleachers guy. I'd be happy to just be in the stadium for a lark I think (at 60 or below).

Of course it is ridiculous compared to a normal OF seat in the US but this isn't normal obviously. More like a Final Four compared to a regular season basketball game. I'm sure prices will go down in future years (especially if it's not always these two teams).

I don't think I can justify paying those prices, not with those angles and for two teams I don't even like. I'm gonna be in Philly for opening week, and I'm probably taking in a game at Yankee stadium (weather permitting). These games will be weird so I'm probably gonna skip them. I'll watch on tv and figure out what the stadium experience is like for 2020.
I reserve the right to change my mind when the tickets go on sale next week.

I'm surprised they put big ticket games like Yankees-Red Sox there, games which would be a big seller stateside. You would think it would have been something like Red Sox-Rays (games that would otherwise have been played in Tampa) or Yankees-Royals (games that would otherwise have been played in Kansas City) or Dodgers-Marlins (games taken from Miami).

I'm sure both teams and their broadcast partners are being compensated accordingly (and tickets would be half as much if it was the Rays, Royals or Marlins).

It seems comparable to the NHL outdoor games to me and I can definitely say (IMO) that they aren't worth it. And yet I'm glad I found out.

This would certainly be a huge stadium upgrade for the A's

It looks incredible- I think futuristic without looking tacky. Nice to see some bold new ideas in stadium/community architecture. I hope it happens.

They can't (or won't spend to) compete now. So maximize the value of your most important asset who might be gone or injured by the time the team is ready to compete. A new GM coupled with David Wright being gone might be the impetus for them to do a real purge and rebuild cycle.
