The Sixers don't match up with the Wizards unfortunately for trying to trade for Beal, the articles last paragraph sums it up. If Fultz can't work with Simmons, how would he work with Wall? The Sixers would have to do that trade with multiple first round picks and a couple players or expiring contracts.
The Sixers will likely not make another big trade, more likely they will pick up a couple players on expiring deals to augment the current roster for this year. Next year the Sixers can add a 4th all star talent player but they have to have a handshake agreement with Butler that he will be signed to a max deal with his Bird rights, but only after they sign another player, like Klay Thompson, so that the salary cap works. If they resign Butler first, they can't sign another big time free agent, so the timing has to be right.
