They are definitely fun to watch. Really like the bench pieces they've added.

Only real question thus far is whether Butler will be happy winning if he is the fourth wheel.

Butler is really the 3rd option during the course of the game (since Simmons isn't really much of an option in half-court sets). In crunch time, Butler may be the first option. I'd think he'd be pretty happy in that role, especially if Brett can implement some P&R sets for him when he's in with bench pieces.

Their roles will also change from night to night. Butler is stepping up his defense.

On another note...Simmons is starting to shoot jump shots which is a good thing even if he's missing. He'll have to keep shooting if he's going to improve.

Yeah, he took four or five jumpers yesterday inside the 3-point line and made 1. Also rimmed out an open 3-pointer.

The wins against Denver and LA were nice, horrendous defense notwithstanding.

For me, the new season starts tomorrow night against the Celtics.

For a Sixers team that has been throttled by the Celtics, Raptors and Bucks this year, there is far too much fan and media hype and self-congratulations; makes for great locker room bulletin board material for those 3 teams that are ahead of the Sixers in the standings.

I'm hopeful, but need to see it with Wins on the court.

I just want to see them be competitive throughout. I'd like them to win, but showing they can handle the defense of the Celts, get good shots, and force the Celtics to work for theirs is the goal. If for some reason we shoot poorly or get horrible calls or whatever and lose I'm fine with that if we show we are capable of winning. I always remember the Phillies team that went 1-11 v the Dodgers in the regular season and blew them out in the playoffs. Regular season wins are nice, but are worth very little when playoff time comes around.

Agreed. It's going to take a while for this team to hit its stride but we really need to look at what the Celtics have done lately...dropping games against some mediocre teams on their own floor.

Kyrie Irving out for tomorrow's game, so if the 76ers win it won't be predictive of future success. If they lose however, it will still be predictive of future failure.

I'm not sure it's irrational. the sixers in the matter of a couple of weeks gave themselves one of the two or three best starting line-ups and filled the bench with some solid pieces. I see now Zhaire Smith is also practicing.

All this stuff about bulletin board material is just odd. This team is now a contender to come out of the east. Brand went out and added the exact right player for this team in Harris.

I think Smith is practicing with Delaware? Hes probably still some time away from playing at Wells Fargo.

Celtics were better in the playoffs last years without Irving and Hayward. Not easy to beat them even without their stars.

Someone forgot to tell the Sixers how unbeatable the new look Sixers are.

So disheartening.

Tonight looked every bit like last year's playoff series. Whether it is coaching or clutch play or voodoo, the Sixers simply cannot beat the Celtics and - if season ended today - face the very real possibility of an embarrassing first round playoff exit.

Reffing really hurt the Sixers, they had 5 new players in the rotation, and they were off from 3-point land a lot of the night, and they still lost by one possession. There is light at the end of the tunnel.
