I think the Sixers traded all those draft picks away thinking that next year Fultz and Smith are effectively our draft picks for next season. So, I'm not sure that they will trade F & S away easily. For the right value, of course, anyone is tradeable. I've read that they can keep both Harris and Butler, but that may involve letting go of Redick, which I'm not sure is a good plan seeing how badly we play without him in the lineup.

On another subject, the bench is OK right now if they stagger it and don't play 5 non-starters together. TJ can play when Ben's not on the floor, Boban and Scott are effective in short minutes, and Bolden has proven he can give an energy boost as a defensive back-up to Embiid (and might be better paired with Boban rather than as the only big). A wing defender/shooter as a buy-out pickup would complete the puzzle In my humble opinion. Not every team is as deep as the Celtics and Raptors, but both those teams are way weaker in the starting 5 than we are.

I stated facts. They are negative due to the team's performance, not because of any opinion of mine.

If you do not like facts, I'm not sure what I can do for you.

As I said, "I guess we'll see what happens". Until we see a performance change against the top teams in the East that we have to beat to make the Finals, we will not know.

Could this trade change those trends? Yes, it could. I hope it does. I want them to win championships so absolutely I hope it does.

Surprised this mega-deal isnt being talked about more... this is the moment for this team. They have said "we are all in, we are tossing our future assets in the trash and gathering what we can to win now" after more than a decade of floundering, then tanking, then growing. The time is now, next year and the year after.

They must resign Butler and Harris this offseason.

Really, they almost "must" make it to the Eastern Conference Championship this year. They need to have that experience to take the next step.

The team is saying "we are next up after GS collapses". That is a bold, bold statement, but we now have a starting lineup that could be going to the NBA All Star game (minus Reddick) and have to fit these 4 pieces together. We have a PG, C, PF and swing player, the pieces, now can Brent Brown make a team out of that with backup pieces.

Brown now has a clock running. He has 2 seasons to win, and win big or he will go down as a coach with one of the worst winning percentage in NBA History. The clock is ticking, ticking loud and ticking very fast.

I think folks are uncertain about:

1. How the trade will impact the 76ers
2. What the organization's plans are regarding these "Core 4" players
3. How they are going to be able to build effectively around them

You're right that the 76ers have signaled they are all in to win now and that is important to note. Whether that turns out to be smart or dumb, we'll need to find out and the decisions on the issues above will go a long way to determining that verdict IMO.

It seems like the sixers are following the model that worked for the warriors. Build role players around them. I'm not sure if that will actually work but it isn't the worst model to try.

Acquired SF James Ennis from the Rockets for a swap of 2nd round picks in 2021 (i.e. next to nothing)

Ennis is a powerful 3/4 who is a bit limited on defense because of his lack of quickness, but he works very hard on court. Decent shooter, not great.

Having a good shooting year this season at 59% true shooting.

The fact that Brand was able to salvage that disaster of a trade is a bit of an accomplishment.
