They can always get Howard back.

But really, why would the Braves give up anything of value to replace him? They are still rebuilding and unlikely to finish over .500 this year.

Which is to say that, even putting aside the division and that it's too early for the Phillies to decide they have a 1B redundancy, the Braves probably couldn't give up enough to get any of those players besides Stassi.

Worst throw of a helmet in history. From 5 feet away he somehow missed the pitcher by 10 feet. Just another reason to dislike the guy

"Remarkably little" is relative I guess, but if the Astros are the model, this year is supposed to be 2013 for Klentak.

Marlins deal Hechevarria to the Rays but it looks like a straight up salary dump for the Marlins. If the Phillies were to entertain offers for Galvis, their situation is much different.

It's interesting, because Galvis is probably a little better than Hechevarria (and slightly younger). Their salaries seem to be identical.

I don't think the Hechevarria trade sets a market for Galvis, though they are very identical. The Marlins are going for a salary dump. The Phillies don't have to and aren't.

Agreed, but the Phillies might be able to get a better return for Galvis if they paid a good chunk of his salary.

For one, I'd be disappointed if they moved Galvis. He is one of the few players I enjoy watching on the parent team, offensively (believe it or not) and defensively. Always seems to be thinking! Trying! Doing something unexpected. Until the next wave hits the scene, it is really a challenge watching this team. I would miss him!

Besides, there is no indication that we have the next shortstop ready yet (ever?), so lets not be premature with one of our real assets.
