I'm not sure what you're getting at here. Keep in mind, there's no savings if they don't sign a slotted pick - those slot dollars evaporate from the pool. The savings will come, I suspect, from the round 8 signing, Bryson Ware. He has signed (we've seen the photo), but we don't have the bonus amount yet. He's a college senior; the slot amount is $187,100. My guess is they signed him for something like $25k, which would completely cover our current excess (over the pool total plus 5%) and then some. If Brown (#10) signed for about $150k, that would give us about $55 to $60k to sweeten the #3 or #4 picks a bit (and I'd guess Saltiban can be had for slot or a bit less, e.g., $650k). Nobody in the second 20 (#12-20) is likely to exceed $150k, and I expect they'll all sign - none of them was an overdraft, just Hettiger at #11, and he's signed.
Also, given the way they seem to operate, I suspect that they had the bonuses pretty much sorted before they drafted these guys. They seem to have taken Hettiger knowing what it would take, and knowing that they could cover that.
