As I posted on another thread, from April 20 up to his promotion after July 9, Haseley put up a .315/.357./.435/.792 line in Clearwater and now he's off to a good start at Reading. Just idle speculation on my part, but if he keeps it going at this rate into mid-August, is it possible that he finds himself in Allentown before the season ends?

I expect Haseley will finish in Reading unless he tears it up, then start next year in Lehigh (unless he really struggles).
Players tend to dictate the rate of promotion on the field.
If he starts next year at Lehigh, hopefully he provides the depth we didn't get from Pullin, Cozens and Quinn this year.

Of course, in a couple years, with Haseley, Herrera, Moniak, and Williams, at some point when Hoskin moves to 1B, if Pujols and Ortiz aren't knocking on the door, a trade for a RH OF will be in order.

Moniak 1/2 with 3 walks...

Greny Cumana, Moniak's teammate, was 3/4 tonight (all singles) and is now hitting .370 with an OPS nearing 900 in CLW. Sixth year with the Phils, I guess they don't see a future for him. He's only listed at 5'5", and used to play SS/2B, but has been an OF/DH this season.

I'm sort of shocked at his (Moniak's) dramatic improvement in power and patience simultaneously. Did he get glasses or contact lenses?

Over his last 10 he is 10/35, only one game without a hit, 3 HR, 2 2B, 6 BB.

Slashing 286/390/600 1090 over this run. Has hit in 12 of 13 games, only one multi-hit game though.

Cumana was extremely undersized (5'5 145) and like a lot of our LA infielders, needed to fill out to hit effectively, He's still only 22 in high A, so it's not like he's old for the league - and seems to have developed some pop. 3BB/5K so he makes contact, just has to become more patient. He's got plus plus speed and a good arm, so he could be a super sub if the uptick in hitting is for real.

Moniak is still only 20 in A+ ball (turned 20 in May) which is very young, and he had to adjust to a new body and the wisdom teeth. Like Ortiz, if the light goes on he'll move very fast through the system.
