Tomorrow is officially the first day of Autumn.

Winter begins the end of September. This year, at least.

Early spring next February. Real spring the beginning of March. Summer in June, when the short-season teams commence play.

The four seasons, according to baseball.

just terrible thread. one of the few threads that get daily looks from alot of us, now to be shut down within a few days. hope to get to a reading playoff game. i'll give a report.

It's not as if we didn't know it was coming. The off-season has its own story lines; granted, it doesn't provide three-hour (or four-hour) blocks of passive entertainment, but the human stories (careers advancing, careers ending, contract drama, trades, etc.) can be just as interesting.

A note on the home run jump in AAA (>57%).

Clearly the ball in use in the ML and AAA in 2019 did make a difference in the game. I don't think I like it.

Cornelius Randolph post ASB in the EL: 263/360/485 for an 845 OPS. Still can't hit lefties at all (~180 BA with a sub 600 OPS). Might find a platoon role in the big leagues.

Eastern League playoffs are a best of 5 semifinals starting tomorrow. Reading is at home versus Trenton on the 4th and 5th. Then on the road at Trenton the 6th-8th. All games at night except for the 8th which would be a Sunday afternoon game 5.
